About Me
Shedeka (she/they) is a Mama, Licensed Master Social Worker, a Certified Meditation and Yoga teacher and Yoga Therapist in training. She shares the teachings that have made a deep impact on her journey as a parent specifically on the path to awakening through relationships. Her mindfulness practice was born out of a curiosity to delve deeper into the practice as healing modality for managing anxiety and migraine symptoms. Shedeka has learned that healing is more than just stopping a symptom or condition; it is learning to nurture ease and well-being within our bodies, hearts, and minds in every moment and even welcome the mystery into our lives.
She is passionate about making the tools of yoga and meditation as inclusive and accessible as possible.
Originally from Taíno land (Jamaica), she currently resides on Osage, Miami, Sioux, Kiikaapoi land (Missouri) where she works to make yoga accessible through yoga therapy, loving-kindness meditation and breath work practices. In her one-on-one sessions, she uses yoga-based tools and techniques to create holistic treatment plans for clients, which support them on the path towards finding balance, harmony and vitality, while reconnecting with their true, inherently whole selves.

She believes that through our yoga and meditation practices, we develop a greater awareness of our physical, emotional and psychological states, helping us to find more ease in our relationships and in our daily lives.
